A great restaurant called Carters in Moseley have asked us here at Amelia's to make yummy delicious things for their afternoon teas that they host 1 Saturday every month when the market is in town. Fantastic to be associated with Brad, Holly and their team. They scream dedication and quality .. 2 things Amelia's is all about. We are thinking about going back to basics with some traditional english puddings in cupcake form ..oh yeah! Thanks Brad and Holly see you soon for our tasting! xx |

We are back from our holibobs all refreshed and relaxed and raring to go. Busy few months ahead but we're on it! Can't wait for next Saturday's cakes ..great choice by the birthday girl .. chocolate sponge with a soft caramel centre topped off with intense chocolate buttercream .. I tell ya a woman knows what she wants when she gets to 50! |

sorry sorry sorry we have been away for so long but this time of year is madness for us here at Amelia's .. those mixers haven't stopped mixing and our hands are sore from all that icing! ha ha ha still it's been great ,,we are closed now for 2 weeks while we take a well earned rest and will return fighting fit in 2 weeks time ready for our next party .. a 50th birthday as soon as we return ..then we have a few nice little things in August followed by a mental wedding packed September ..it's all good here at Amelia's and we hope it's all good with you too! Apologies for not posting sooner but it's been a mad house! Most exciting of all was our delivery into Selfridges Birmingham for Mothers Day Weekend .. our buttercreamed babies joined others to be given away in the ladies wear / cosmetics department. Ours were yellow with huge daises and pink with either hearts or roses ..all topped off with our signature edible glitter .. u know how much we love that!! Even better as of next week Amelia's Whoopie Pies will be for sale in the 4th Floor Champagne Bar in Selfridges Birmingham ... delicious rich chocolate, fresh strawberry and lemon curd with a hint of vanilla. We are so excited and honoured and to be associated with Selfridges long may it continue! Love to all M xx |

Absolutly amazing news Perfect Wedding magazine are featuring some of our cakes in their Dec issue out on 1st Dec. We are so excited .. can't wait to see them. Apologies for not posting sooner but it has been a busy old time here at Amelia's what with Halloween just gone and Bonfire Night coming .. had I mentioned the 5th is my birthday .. ho hum. The orders from the National Wedding Show are now starting to roll in and it looks like 2011/2012 will be quite healthy .. still room for more bookings though and I am also contacting some local farmers markets so look out for Amelia's. Just had a very exciting email from The Deputy Editor at Perfect Wedding Magazine requesting some images of my cakes which I have obviously sent off lickety split! EXCITING!!! Well .. I'm off to have a bash at candied apple and cinnamon cupcakes with a toffee buttercream perfect for Friday evening .. have a good one. xx |

Just making a batch of chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes on my favourite old mixer ... Kenwood dates back to the 1960's and it's way better than any new model. It used to belong to my Auntie Eileen but I managed to guilt her into donating it in return for a few goodies from Marks and Spencers! It makes the best lightest buttercream you have ever known and believe me it will make short work of this milk chocolate icing...I clean it and talk to it and love it ... it can never be replaced .. ta again Auntie Ei!!!
